Founded by the New York Times and axel springer, blendle offers all articles from major newspapers and magazines behind one paywall where users pay only for the articles they read. It has been called itunes of journalism. In october 2014 blendle received a series investment from the new york times company and axel springer. In september 2015 it was launched in the United States in private beta.
