Samma Studio is an architecture and interior design practice that specializes in commercial and hospitality projects. Based in Bali, our studio is known for our distinctive tropical contemporary design. Formerly known as Studio Tropis, our design practice has recently undergone a major transformation since being established in 2017. Through this change, we aim to align the image of our practice better with our values. Inspired by the collaborative process we share with our clients, we are now known as Samma Studio. The new name was derived from the Sanskrit words samma, meaning harmonious, and samasana, meaning collaboration. The word is also a homophone of the Indonesian word sama, which means equal. Our practice puts primary focus in designing villas, hotels, resorts, as well as cafes, restaurants, and bars. Despite our commitment in the hospitality industry, we are open to branching out into other sectors. You can browse through our work here. Hi there! We are Design Assembly - a small, Bali-based team of Architects and designers, specialising in Architecture, Interiors and Branding. Fresh-faced new folk on the block, we established the company in 2015 with an aim to provide outstanding and meaningful design in what we do, every single time. We aim to draw inspiration from around us and further a field so that we’re always brimming with useful ideas to pour into your unique vision. We’ve worked on our fair share of both resort and residential projects, enough to know that one size doesn’t fit all, so we try to be as flexible as a project requires and offer our services as they’re needed. But where a project calls for it, ideally we like to work on the whole pie – Architecture, Interiors and Branding. This way we can create coherent, beautiful environments that exude character and don’t feel fragmented at any point – everyone’s favorite kind. Lumbung was started by Andri Saputra in 2010. Lumbung’s output is very much concerned about the functionality and the proportionality of the building layout. The studio believes that in the design development process, the aesthetics not only practical to use but also efficient and should never sacrifice function or occupant’s comfort. The design output has to enhance the functions of the people who utilize it.

Established in 2018, +initiative. is a newly established organisation that believe in the strength of delivering a change in an urban environment through small acts. We are seeking to gather groups of individuals and organisations that are enthusiastic about tackling cities most pressing issues. Currently, we are working on our pilot research project on Child-Friendly Public Space in Jakarta. This research will assess the child-friendliness of the existing public spaces in Jakarta, identify how more public spaces are best delivered within some constraintes provided by the local context and provide design solutions based on our analysis.
