Gap Year Association

The Gap Year Association (GYA) is the Official Standards Development Organization for gap year education in the U.S. as recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission. GYA advances the field of gap year education by collaboratively pioneering research on gap year benefits and trends, as well as providing professional development opportunities and resources for educators in gap year education and intersecting fields. GYA also maintains a robust accreditation process for gap year program providers and consultants. Our mission is to maximize the potential of young adults through meaningful and accessible gap year opportunities. Our vision is for all young adults to have access to experiential learning opportunities that support a meaningful and purposeful life.

MEORC

The Mid-East Ohio Regional Council (MEORC) provides innovative products and services to 19-member county boards, providers, and to people with developmental disabilities in Mid-East Ohio. We are known for our expertise in facilitating cooperation, collaboration and problem solving to improve services, creating opportunities for people to be included and building strong communities. MEORC is a council of governments created under the authority of Chapter 167 of the Ohio Revised Code. The original by-laws were adopted on January 20, 1989.

Warren County Government (North Carolina)

Warren County, NC Government operates under the council-manager form of government. North Carolina General Statute 153A-82 designates the county manager as chief administrative officer for county government, responsible to the board of county commissioners for directing and supervising the administration of all county offices, departments, boards, commissions, and agencies under the general control of the board of commissioners. The county manager shall see that the orders, ordinances, resolutions, regulations of the Board of Commissioners are faithfully executed and shall prepare and submit the annual budget and capital program to the Board. The governing body is a five-member Board of Commissioners, representing five voting districts, elected at large to serve four-year staggered terms. The County Manager, appointed by the Board serves as the chief administrative officer for approximately 250 full-time employees, with general control of some 21 departments with an annual operating budget in excess of $25 million. County administration strives to improve governmental effectiveness to meet our citizen's needs as well as our governing body's expectations by delivering services that exceed performance standards, thereby demonstrating a good return for tax dollars. Our methodology utilized toward this end is based on creating and maintaining a work environment that, on balance, motivates our workforce to excel in the provision of those services.
