Our process for dustless sandblasting uses recycled bottle glass and other eco-friendly abrasives that comply with California environmental regulation. The dustless sandblasting method we use at VSR is a "wet" abrasive blasting method that is more eco-friendly and safer on metal items than traditional dry sandblasting. In dry blasting, metal surfaces can fall victim to warping, due to the high frictional heat from the abrasive media. Wet blasting, or dustless blasting uses air as a delivery agent, with aggregate as an abrasive source. Water is then added to the delivery stream, to prevent dust from being kicked up. The water blasting technique also cools the blasted surface up to 15% more than ambient air temperature.
