D.S.R.V. "Laga"​

De Delftsche Studenten Roeivereeniging “Laga” is één van de meest toonaangevende studenten roeiverenigingen in Nederland en heeft ongeveer 750 leden. Ze is de op één na oudste studenten roeivereniging van Nederland en kent een lange geschiedenis met veel successen. Zo werd er in 1900 in Parijs de eerste Olympische Gouden Medaille voor de Nederlandse sportwereld behaald door een Lagaploeg! Laga is sinds enige jaren weer terug bij de top van roeiend Nederland. Professionalisering in organisatie, coaching en materiaal zijn hierbij aan de pas gekomen. Deze professionalisering is terug te vinden in prestaties zowel op het water als op de kant. Profcoaches en de waarborging van continuïteit door beleidbrainstorms, evaluaties en vergaderuren dragen hieraan bij. Er wordt zowel op competitie- als op wedstrijdniveau hard geroeid bij Laga. In de zomer van 2016 won Lagaaier Olivier Siegelaar brons op de Olympische spelen. Maar ook werd er brons behaald op het WK in Rotterdam en won Laga goud op de European University Games in Kroatië. De grootste recente overwinning is de winst op de Head of the Charles in Boston. Bovendien presteren alle eerstejaars wedstrijdploegen in de top 5. Binnen het competitie roeien is Laga dominant. Zowel in de NOOC- als de sprintbokalen vaart Laga vooraan mee. Laga organiseert twee bijzondere wedstrijden. Ten eerste de Parthenon-EY Ringvaart Regatta, een 100 km roeimarathon, die inmiddels is uitgegroeid tot een begrip in heel roeiend Nederland. Daarnaast de Damen Raceroei Regatta. Deze klasserende 2-km wedstrijd bestaat pas vijf jaar, maar is nu al een hoogtepunt in het wedstrijdseizoen. Verder organiseert Laga jaarlijks een Jeugdroeikamp voor kinderen tussen de 9 en 18 jaar in Naarden-Vesting. Laga kan als roeivereniging haar prestaties niet waarmaken zonder de inzet van haar (Oud-)leden. Via een scala aan commissies is Laga organisatorisch sterk vertegenwoordigd en weet zij zichzelf ieder jaar weer te overtreffen. “Allez Lagaai!”
