Dynamic and award-winning, Gig-Arts is a national charity registered in England and Wales which helps artists of all abilities to shine through creative enterprise events. The charity supports school children, college and university students and vulnerable adults with learning disabilities. We are committed to helping people who love the arts, music, drama, design, sculpture and creative events to develop their business and communication skills and to 'make a difference' in their local communities through their creativity. With an excellent reputation within the education, disability arts and charity sector, Gig-Arts is considered a forward-looking organisation, committed to developing new accessible services and working in partnership with schools, colleges, universities and day care centres. Gig-Arts is based in Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire and since 2005 has toured throughout Great Britain in cities including London, Oxford, Leeds, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Dublin. The charity's exciting creative enterprise events have also been held internationally in the USA in the New York and Atlanta area. All Gig-Arts Events are offered for 'free' to individual disadvantaged participants. Each event is financially supported by corporate sponsorship, grant funding and in-kind contributions. Customised 'Corporate Gig-Arts Events' for business managers are available online in return for financial 'CSR' donations towards art materials and the charity's core costs. The charity has a diverse board of trustees who meet online two to three times a year. Taking a hands-on approach, they steer and support Founder-CEO Abbie Cooke and her team to present the Gig-Arts Events.

Humane Slaughter Association

The HSA is an independent charity working towards achieving the highest worldwide standards in food animal welfare during transport, marketing and slaughter. It is the charity which cares beyond the farm gate. Every day, millions of animals around the world are transported, marketed and slaughtered for food. The potential for distress and suffering for these animals is immense and comes at a time when they are most vulnerable. The HSA is the only UK charity exclusively promoting the humane treatment of all food animals in markets, during transport, at slaughter and killing for welfare reasons or disease control. The HSA's vision is to improve the welfare of food animals between the farm gate and slaughter around the world. We've tapped nature by storing rainwater, halved energy budgets with better-burning brick stoves, and brought 10 more hours to the day for studying and play with LED Lights and small solar panels.
