Able Australia

Able Australia is one of Australia's leading not-for-profit organisations, delivering high quality, person-centred services to people living with multiple disabilities, including deafblindness and in community support services. From its humble beginnings in 1967 as an association for people with deafblindness and rubella, Able Australia has grown into a diverse and dynamic organisation that supports more than 4000 people throughout the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, Queensland and Victoria. Today, we employ more than 500 staff and are assisted by over 200 volunteers who are passionate about ensuring every person we support is seen, heard, respected, valued and connected. The Gathering of Southeast WI, Inc.

The Gathering is a local nonprofit hunger-relief organization focused on feeding Milwaukee's hungry and homeless. Our Community Meal Programs - in operation since 1982 - serve between 80,000-90,000 free home cooked meals annually. We are one of Wisconsin's largest volunteer-based meal program with 1,500-2,000 volunteers every year. The Gathering is a community of guests, volunteers and staff united by a common goal: to feed the hungry in body, mind and spirit. We provide ten to eleven free meals each week, cooked fresh on site at four Milwaukee locations, to those who would otherwise go hungry. We also offer services associated with ending hunger and homelessness and work to educate our community on hunger issues. Our Community Meal Program is the heart and soul of the Gathering's mission. The Gathering welcomes everyone to our meal sites without regard to race, religion or lack of a faith belief, national origin, gender, age, handicap, or sexual orientation. THE MISSION of the Gathering is to provide meals and associated services to those who would otherwise go hungry or without. WE RESPECT the dignity and values of every individual we serve and value our volunteers who allow us to serve the community. WE ACT directly and in concert with others to alleviate hunger and to address the root causes and related problems associated with hunger. OUR SUCCESS is demonstrated by providing quality services to our guests and remaining a viable volunteer-driven organization.

Camp Jorn YMCA

Camp Jorn YMCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of people both young and old while preserving nature and building positive life experiences for generations to come. We offer both resident and day camp, as well as year-round child care. We are dedicated to providing children from all walks of life with a positive, life-changing experience in a safe, caring, encouraging, natural environment. Emphasis on quality progressive programming (taking advantage of camp's unique location and strong volunteer/community involvement) and excellent older camper/leadership opportunities. Our mission is for all who engage in Camp Jorn YMCA experiences to recognize and to develp value in themselves and in the world around them. We are located in beautiful Manitowish Waters, WI. Our camp sits on 75 acres of Northern Highland forest overlooking Rest Lake.

North Lakeland Discovery Center

Connecting people to nature; promoting stewardship of our beautiful Northwoods resources... The North Lakeland Discovery Center is a place where people can come to connect to the natural world. Our location in the Northwoods of Wisconsin is beautifully remote, surrounded by water and forests, and yet accessible to visitors. Whether you have vast experience in the outdoors or are new to exploring, we have a program for your interests and skill levels. We are... - Dedicated to promoting stewardship: our citizen-based monitoring programs are a great way to get out and learn the ecological concepts and techniques connected with some of our Northwoods species and habitats of concern. - Devoted to life-long learning: our on-going and special event programs cover topics from Aquatic Invasive Species to a Weekend with Wolves. Our naturalists and guest speakers are knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the wonder of the natural world.
