About
Mr Chandrakant Salunkhe, was involved in the family-owned business from 1982 and established his own business group “Macro Group of Companies” in 1991, involved in Manufacturing, Export, Import and marketing of Packaging Machines, Equipment and material and also involved in Contract Manufacturing of industrial products, electronic & electrical Equipment, Capital goods from SMEs and dealing in Industrial automation and advanced & patented technology. As the serial Entrepreneur and “SME rights activist”, Mr Chandrakant Salunkhe has founded “SME Chamber of India” in 1993 to support SMEs for better business growth, international connectivity for exports, joint venture, technology transfer, contract manufacturing, merger & acquisitions, import facilitation and channelizing Finance & Investment. He has been on the forefront for policy change & policy implementation to secure the interest of SME sector, regularly interacting with Prime Minister & state & central ministers, officials and Heads of regulatory authorities, financial Institutions & corporates to resolves issues of SMEs, He has taken lead to set up “SME Stock Exchange”, TReDS – Electronic platform for Trade Receivables, National Skill Development Corporation, setting up exclusive SME divisions in various state governments & Indian missions in various countries, Start-up India and collateral free funding for SMEs. He has also founded “Federation of Indian SME Associations” to unite all SMEs & manufacturing organizations from national to local to empower the sector & for policy change & implementations. MR Salunkhe is a Regular Member of RBI Governor’s Pre-Monetary Policy Review Committee for the last 12 years, Member of RBI Empowered Committee for SMEs and SLIC for various states for the last 15 years, He has played very important role to change the definitions of SSI to MSME sector in 2002 During Prime Ministership of Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 2002. He was the organiser along with Government of Maharashtra of 1st ever Global Investors Mega event “Advantage Maharashtra” in 1996 at Mumbai and the chief guest was then Prime Minister Mr H.D. Deve Gowda and Chief Minister Mr Manohar Joshi and He took efforts to reduce permissions & licenses and focus on Ease of doing business for Industries & SME sector. As a thought leader, MR Salunkhe has been regularly addressing national & international conferences, Government & regulatory authorities, Associations meetings, sharing his views and thoughts at media, TV channels, Business magazines and various publications.
