Gopal Rangaraj is a Chemical Engineer from NIT Tiruchirappalli, with overall 30 years of work experience of which 15 years in Technology Leadership roles.
In his role as Group CIO & IT Head Gopal has held overall responsibility of IT function including:
• Drive Digital Transformation program across Manufacturing, R&D, Sales & Marketing & Enterprise functions.
• Design & Deploy IoT, Process automation & Analytics & Cloud Technologies as part of manufacturing & supply chain automation
• Sales force automation and Digital marketing initiatives as part of customer process automation
• Manage IT assets to support distributed computing across On Premise, Edge & On Cloud compute in an high availability state
• Manage Enterprise Information security aspects across design, deployment and operations of Cyber security systems and reporting performance to Board as part of Audit committee reporting.
• Manage commercial & contracts related to procurement of Technology products and services in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model and manage technology refresh strategies to ensure technology investments are safeguarded
• Manage a core team, consisting of Technology, Domain & Service delivery professionals along with contract resources with a focus on technology adoption
Gopal’s work experience spans across Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences, Petrochemicals, Agrotech & Manufacturing Industry domains. Gopal has also worked in Retail, Automotive industry projects as part of Business & IT Consulting assignments.
• Has SAP ERP Certification in SD, APO (Certified Supply Chain Consultant). He has handled Supply Chain & Production Optimization modelling assignments as part of Supply Chain consulting practice as PricewaterhouseCoopers – PwC
• Gopal Rangaraj has won the CIO 100 Award instituted by IDG, Publishers of CIO magazine for four times since 2008 and is now a Jury member and Panelist for Award selections. His team has also won the EDGE award constituted by Information Week magazine.
