As Technical Manager at DBT-BIRAC, NewDelhi involved in Technical & Scientific due-diligence of projects in Health care, Medical Device area for funding, Health- Technology Assessment/ Technology Readiness Level Assessment of products and technologies supported, Managing operations of schemes supporting projects on Medical Devices and commercialization of project outcomes.
As postdoctoral fellow is in the area of telomere biology at Lund University,Sweden, I worked in a group studying telomere maintenance in yeast and am specifically involved in characterizing the roles of telomere binding proteins in telomere length maintenance and protection. I use a combination of techniques involving genetics, molecular biology, protein biochemistry and structural biology to answer some of the basic questions in telomere biology.
As a postdoctoral research associate in Cancer Biology at RGCB, Thiruvanathapuram, I gained technical expertise in mammalian cell culture and various molecular cancer biology techniques like Western blotting, q-PCR, Cell viability assays and cell cycle analysis. I could involve myself in various projects and get trained in different techniques along with contributing valuable data for the project. Results from two of the projects were published recently in reputed journals.
As a researcher in the field of Molecular Biology for over nine years, I am well trained and experienced in identifying relevant research problems, solving them using appropriate research methodology, produce significant data, analyzing the results to draw conclusions and in communicating the important findings. As a project fellow and PhD scholar, I have worked extensively on production, purification and biochemical & biophysical characterization of recombinant Mycobacterium tuberculosis enzymes, like Peptide deformylase, Methionine aminopeptidase and Beta-lactamases, which are potential drug targets against TB. I have also created site-directed mutants of these enzymes and targeted gene knock-outs in Mycobacterium smegmatis. I have also involved myself in creating microbial bioactive library and screening them for natural inhibitors of afore mentioned enzymes. Results from these studies have been published in various reputed journals.
