I am an attorney in Husch Blackwell’s Technology, Manufacturing and Transportation industry team. I have been practicing government relations and public policy law for more than 20 years and have served in numerous positions with the U.S. House of Representatives. Notably, I was appointed by former President Clinton as the general counsel to the United States Agency for International Development, where I served as the chief legal advisor to more than 72 U.S. missions around the world.
Diversity matters to me. I am the former chair of the National Women’s Business Center and a past president of Women in Government Relations Inc. In 2012, I was named by On Being a Black Lawyer magazine as one of the nation’s “Top Black Lawyers With Influence.” Additionally, in 2014 I was recognized as a “Top Lobbyist & Influencer” by the same magazine.
In January 2015, I was appointed as secretary of the Virginia State Board of Elections. I am a member of the board of directors of Alliant Energy Inc. and United Rentals and am on the Board of Visitors of the University of Maryland.
